My name is Téa. No, it’s not a nice name and it isn’t exotic. I am a living, breathing example of bogan baby names. That’s it, I’m afraid.
I piss people off and thats a good thing. Because I piss off the right sorts of people. I am a feminist, an activist, a loudmouth, a smart arse. The majority of people find me hard to define and I like it that way. I am most likely smarter than you. I am apparently quite influential and popular, but most of the time I feel lonely.
There are 2 types of people in this world. The first type has a linear path: studies for their University course, gets a job in their related field, progresses up a ladder… and retires.
The second type spends their whole life in search of meaning, passion and adventure, and the rest figures itself out along the way.
I am the second type. As much as I have often wished I could be the first, I have learned to accept my different world view as a strength rather than a weakness. I am seeking knowledge & wisdom, searching for that magic balance between what I love and how I earn a living. I learned very early on not to squander any opportunities I have been given. I try to live my life with kindness, forgiveness and consciousness. I truly believe that I was born to make a difference.
What that difference is, exactly, is something I am still trying to figure out. I am trying to trust people less and have been burned oh so many times… but… I keep going.
Right now, I own a Web Design Agency. I do cool stuff, strategic stuff, left-of-centre stuff. And I am good at it. But I am also a kickarse corporate mind as well. In my checkered past I have studied Politics & Law, Journalism & Communications. I have worked in child protection and I hated every minute of it. I worked at a recruitment agency and hated that even more. I have done Energy policy, Social Policy, and gotten people elected.
My name is in Hansard.
I am a lot of different things to a lot of different people. I am doing more speaking gigs and consulting and I love it – mostly because I love the sound of my own voice. But I doubt you’re surprised.
Welcome to my blog, where I write embarrassing, personal, brutally honest, and occasionally funny rants.
